You may have seen or heard about Silent Sound Systems on TV or online. If you haven’t, a Silent Sound System gives Fitness Instructors the ability to hold classes just about anywhere: parks, parking lots, huge auditoriums, and any other areas that don’t allow loud sound that have previously been off-limits to group fitness classes!
What is a Silent Sound System?
A Silent Sound System is a completely wireless PA system that operates through noise-cancelling headphones worn by each participant, all wirelessly connected to the same sound source.
What that means is that the Group Fitness Instructor teaches through a wireless headset microphone and all the class members follow along while listening through their own set of wireless noise-cancelling headphones.
The Set Up
The whole system can be housed in an easy to move rolling rack (you do need an outlet to power it though). The Fitness Instructor can use their smart device to play their music through the sound system and participants listen through their own set of headphones.
The Transmitter and Headphones
Depending on the transmitter, you have a range of between 180 to over 5200 metres, so you don’t need to worry about social distancing or being heard. In addition, your headphones should have a battery life of around 11 hours.
