30 years ago, electronics technician Peter Paisley designed and manufactured the first model of the Aeromic in his Bondi Junction family home.
After receiving a request from a leading Australian Fitness Instructor for a microphone that wouldn’t malfunction in the midst of her highly-regarded fitness masterclasses, Peter went to work constructing what would soon become a world-renowned, Industry Gold Standard fitness microphone.
It was no easy feat designing a microphone that was lightweight, sweat resistant, aesthetically pleasing and right for the fitness industry, but Peter did just that. His headmic was used for all the 90-minute “Train the Trainers” Masterclasses given at the Australian Fitness Network’s Annual Fitness Convention since 1991, and before long orders were flooding in for his innovative new mic from across the globe.
It’s been 30 years since the Aeromic made its debut, but Peter is still hard at work. In 1994 he teamed up with John Penhallow to establish the global distribution company, Aeromic Microphones Australia (AMA). He continually evaluates and improves the Aeromic and it’s brother product the Cyclemic. He also specified the extra processes that go into making the E*mic better than similar versions.
All of us at AMA are proud of Peter and his journey. We have watched the Aeromic grow from a humble, homemade microphone to an Industry Gold fitness microphone, well-known amongst fitness professionals.
